My specialty is writing for the travel industry, whether that is through web copy or through freelance writing. But creating content is something that's part of the game, with the ultimate objective being getting traffic and bringing in potential customers.
It's definitely not an easy thing to do, and trying to optimize that content is something that every business I've worked with ponders, as well as myself for this copywriting/marketing business.
So I've decided that in three weeks from today, I'll be talking about how to create magnetic content for your site by...trying to work out my own here, then reporting back on my results, warts and all. I've been learning a lot from the Copyblogger website and others, and I can't wait to share what I've learned with you.
Why in three weeks, and not right this minute?
Because I will be going on vacation, starting next Tuesday. I'll be chronicling at my other site related to photography and travel and hoping that I can do what many other successful bloggers do and write compelling stuff while moving from place to place (in the case of Tuscany, on bike for 20-30 miles a day). The only concern I have is having a decent internet connection wherever we happen to be going. I'm hoping for good wi-fi connections, but I may have to go to an internet cafe to get my words in. My hope is to blog at least three times a week on the trip, ideally every day.
Our itinerary includes Zurich, the Bernese Oberland, the Cinque Terre, Florence, the Tuscany countryside and Rome, with a one-day layover in Madrid, mostly on train. Kinda wish it was Paris, even though I've been there before, but it'll do just fine.
So please join me and my husband R as we journey through the heart of the continent. Since it's an area of the world I've never been to, I'm looking forward to it, and even more so, can't wait to write about it!
