I don't want you to think I take all of December off. But this is a justified, legitimate break I'm giving myself for the Christmas holiday. I'll be back next week...ready to tackle 2014.
This is the year I finally made some headway with my writing business. I'm far from where I want to be, but I'd really like to say, "Thanks!" to all of those who guided and supported me along the way, the clients who have given me a chance to write for them, and the ones I will be working with in the coming year.
Being a freelancer is never easy, but I'm glad I've had people like Jay White, Nick Usborne, Katie Yeakle, Rebecca Matter, Lori Allen (and everyone at Great Escape Publishing) and Steve Roller to help me push my writing aspirations further.
Thanks to everyone who helped me with my writing career this year!
And it's always great to have support from people who are on the same path as you. I've enjoyed the Facebook groups I've been a part of - the Bootcamp Accountability group with Gloria, Li, Janet, Robbin, and Sandra. I'm hoping Amy and Susan (who started the group) can join us more often this year on our monthly Google Hangout calls. The Web Intensive Accountability group, with Li, Robbin, Sally, Leslie, Karen, Maureen, Anne and Edna. The Santa Fe Retreat group: merci to Steve, Gary, Chris, Rae, Charlotte, Mandy, Leanne and Tanya. And now I have a new mastermind group who meets weekly on Hangout too. Thanks to Jerry, Jane, Deborah, Jim and Carl. Finally, there's my first group (the Alpides) that really provided the boost I needed at the beginning, with Augustin, Margot, Shauna, Brian, Sheldon, June and Chris. ¡Muchas gracias a todos!
Finally, this whole journey wouldn't be possible without my family: my beautiful girls, J and N, who provide the inspiration I need to keep going at this crazy life everyday and for whom I want to provide a shining example of achieving anything you want in life. And to my husband R, who loves and supports me no matter what, who took me to Europe this summer to sustain my love of travel, and who believes in everything I do.
